As a communications company involved in information, lifestyle, and culture, Toppan undertakes various cultural activities pertaining to printing and related areas. Beginning in the 1960s with our Photo Color Contest, we have used printing technology to support the arts and culture, focusing on design, publishing, photography, and graphics.

Protection of the environment is a major social responsibility of every corporation and has also become an important management issue. Recognizing this fact, Toppan established the Ecology Center in 1991 - the first company in the printing industry to do so. In the following year, we formulated Toppan's Declaration on the Global Environment, which encapsulates our environmental philosophy. Our Environmental Report, published annually since 1998, provides environmental accounting details. It also clarifies environmental objectives, such as achievement of zero emissions at our 15 domestic plants by the end of March 2003. |
