Light Control Film
“LC MAGIC”
F.A.Q.
Product Features
It expresses the ratio of the incident light transmitted through LC MAGIC.
The larger the value, the brighter the image, and the smaller the value, the darker the image. Since this value does not change greatly depending on whether LC MAGIC is ON or OFF, it means that the light is diffused rather than shielded.
It expresses the ratio of the parallel incident light that passes through LC MAGIC while remaining parallel. The lower the value, the more the light is redirected and diffused.
Sometimes called fog value, it is a value that indicates the fog level (turbidity). The lower, the more transparent, and the higher, the more fogging.
Haze value = (total light transmittance - parallel light transmittance) / total light transmittance x 100.
Haze is an indicator of transparency and is also called turbidity.
It expresses the ratio of diffuse transmitted light to total transmitted light as a percentage.
It indicates the degree of transmission of visible light among light components.
After the film is applied, the transparency decreases slightly (the total light transmittance when LC MAGIC is transparent is approx. 86%).
It is implemented based on JIS A 5759. After 2,000 hours of testing under the test condition standard: JIS K7350-4 (plastic), appearance and optical properties are confirmed.
It is a polymer film named "Polyethylene terephthalate" and has excellent strength, heat resistance, and optical properties.
The adhesive absorbs UV rays, providing 99.9% protection from UV.
Light cannot be shielded because the film switches between transmission and scattering. When light is scattered, it is lit like a lace curtain.
We are developing a new grade "Normal Black" (black with 5% visible light transmittance when the power is off).
There is currently no heat shielding performance (under consideration).
Usage
LC MAGIC can be utilitized to create partitions in meeting rooms and hospitals, offering hallway privacy or visibility for factory tours, stages and performance productions, industrial equipment, etc. You can create a space with a sense of openness while protecting privacy and security.
The installation environment should be checked. Please contact us for details regarding water exposed area such as bathroom.
The product is warranted for 1 year.
The design standard usage period is assumed to be 10 years when used in a normal office environment (23°C).
There is no effect.
3 weeks if in stock, and 2 months if out of stock.
Installation and maintenance
The process can be done at our partner companies. Please contact us for details.
It can be applied to transparent glass or resin substrates.
1,450 x 3,000 mm. If the glass is larger, multiple sheets can be attached per glass.
It is necessary to check for "thermal cracking" when attaching to a place exposed to external light. In addition, it cannot be attached in an environment where dew condensation occurs.
Yes, the film can be cut into irregular shapes.
Normal-Mode film can be attached to a 2D curved surface with a radius of curvature of 1,000 mm or more.
It cannot be pasted on a 3D curved surface.
Please contact us for installtion details.
Please wipe it gently with a soft cloth soaked in absolute ethanol, and avoid using chemicals or dry cloth.
LC MAGIC offers easy maintenance as it avoids the dust accumulation encountered with curtains and blinds, making daily cleaning simple and sanitary.
