Tokyo – November 20, 2020 – Toppan Printing (Toppan) (TYO:7911), a global leader in communication, security, packaging, décor materials, and electronics solutions, has published the English version of its latest sustainability report. “Sustainability Report 2020” presents information on the fiscal year ended March 2020 in accordance with the seven core subjects of ISO 26000 and can be viewed in PDF form on the Sustainability section of Toppan’s website.
In addition to an executive message from Toppan’s President & Representative Director, Hideharu Maro, and descriptions of theme-specific activities, this year’s report features sections on materiality in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change risk, and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD).
The TOPPAN SDGs STATEMENT, published in November 2019, sets out SDG-related material issues for Toppan to address in its sustainability initiatives. Special features in the sustainability report focus on diversity and inclusion—an example of companywide efforts to address the material issues identified—and the application of advanced visualization technologies as one way in which Toppan’s business can bring solutions to society.
Following the announcement of its support for the recommendations of the TCFD in May 2019, Toppan has begun assessing the impact that climate change could have on its business. Sustainability Report 2020 discloses information aligned with the four thematic areas of the TCFD recommendations: governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets.
