15th TOPPAN Charity Concert (February 2024)

The 15th TOPPAN Charity Concert was held at Toppan Hall on February 29, 2024.

Up-and-coming young pianist Miyuji Kaneko performed several well-known pieces by composers including Chopin and Liszt. Between pieces he charmed the audience with his relaxed speaking style when explaining the stories and background behind the music as well as what the TOPPAN Charity Concert series is about. He closed by playing an original version of Rhapsody in Blue, which he arranged specially for the performance at Toppan Hall, and finished on a high note with an encore.

After the concert, members of the audience took in the SMILE ASIA Project exhibits and display panels in front of Toppan Hall. Photographs taken by Miyuji Kaneko himself also drew an enthusiastic response on his social media accounts.

To fulfill its responsibility as a good corporate citizen, TOPPAN works to strengthen mutual understanding through interaction and engagement with local communities as well as continuously striving to support the arts, culture, sports, and education.

TOPPAN Charity Concerts have been held every year since 2008 to contribute to society by supporting efforts to raise literacy rates in developing countries. Proceeds from the concerts are donated to the Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO (ACCU) and used for the SMILE ASIA Project, which supports literacy education for Cambodian women, particularly those who are pregnant or raising young children.

All proceeds from ticket sales and donations collected at the 15th TOPPAN Charity Concert will be donated to the ACCU’s SMILE ASIA Project.
